On the 4th of December 2020 the Cammino Minerario di Santa Barbara Foundation (Italy), the Comarca Andorra Sierra de Arcos (Spain) and Le Bois du Cazier (Belgium), performed a particularly significant act for the valorisation of the cultural heritage linked to the millenary mining activity and to the related cult for Santa Barbara by signing the founding act of the European Mining Routes of Santa Barbara Federation – MINES.B, open to the participation of all other potential European partners who cherish the same values.
The candidature among the CULTURAL ROUTES OF THE COUNCIL OF EUROPE was thus initiated with the aim of transmitting to the new generations the values that characterised the millenary mining epic of EUROPE, which for the first time brought together the peoples of the OLD CONTINENT, contributing to the construction of the COMMON EUROPEAN CULTURE AND IDENTITY.
