OZ Banský Región – Terra Montanae

The Banský Región – Terra Montanae is the civic association behind the development and coordination of the Barborská cesta project. It brings together a wide network of stakeholders, including local authorities, tourism organizations, entrepreneurs, cultural and religious institutions, mining associations, educational institutions, and individual contributors, all united by a shared commitment to the preservation and promotion of mining heritage.

Its role is centered on fostering collaboration across sectors, creating a structured framework through which diverse actors can contribute to the revitalization of historically significant areas. By connecting institutional, economic, and community-based perspectives, the association supports initiatives that enhance cultural awareness and encourage sustainable regional development.

The organization is particularly engaged in promoting the historical significance of mining traditions within a broader European context, emphasizing their role in shaping cultural exchange, technological progress, and regional identity. Through its activities, it seeks to ensure that this legacy remains accessible, relevant, and actively integrated into contemporary cultural and tourism practices, while also strengthening the sense of shared heritage among local communities.
