Prof. Alexandra Bitušíková
President of the Scientific Committee
Prof. Alexandra Bitušíková is Full Professor of Social Anthropology at Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica (Slovakia). With more than thirty-five years of academic and research experience, she is one of the leading European scholars in the fields of urban anthropology, cultural heritage, identities, and post-socialist transformations in Central Europe.
She has held important institutional positions, including Vice-Rector for Research at Matej Bel University, and has been actively involved in European research programmes (FP5, FP6, FP7, Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe). She is a member of international scientific committees and serves as an expert consultant in research and higher education policies, with particular focus on social sciences, cultural heritage, and sustainability.
Her contribution to the MINES.B Scientific Committee strengthens the European and interdisciplinary dimension of the Federation, particularly in relation to identity, industrial heritage, and local communities.
