Gašper Oitzl, Phd

Gašper Oitzl is a historian and curator at the National Museum of Slovenia, where he is responsible for the metalwork collection. He obtained his PhD in History from the University of Ljubljana and is involved in research programmes dedicated to material culture in Slovenia.

His research focuses on the history of metallurgy in Slovenian territory from the Late Middle Ages to the Early Modern Period, with particular attention to iron production, metallurgical technologies, and the organization of ironworking communities. He is the author of monographs and scientific publications on the history of the iron industry and metal material culture.

His expertise enriches the Scientific Committee with a long-term historical perspective on European mining and metallurgical traditions.
