MINES.B THESIS AWARD 2026

The European Mining Routes of Saint Barbara Federation (MINES.B) hereby launches this international call for applications for the awarding of the MINES.B Thesis Award 2026, aimed at rewarding a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree thesis distinguished by its high scientific, cultural and applied value in the field of European mining heritage.
The competition forms part of the cultural, scientific and educational promotion activities of the MINES.B Federation and aims to encourage academic research on topics related to mining history, industrial heritage, extractive landscapes, mining communities and territorial regeneration processes, with particular attention to the European and transnational dimension.
The European Mining Routes of Saint Barbara Federation (MINES.B) is a transnational network of public bodies and cultural organisations committed to the protection, enhancement and promotion of European mining heritage, both tangible and intangible. The Federation brings together territories sharing a long mining and industrial tradition, promoting cooperation among its members through shared cultural-tourism routes, research activities, training, dissemination and sustainable development initiatives.
