The European Mining Routes of Saint Barbara Federation (MINES.B) has officially launched the International Call for Applications for the MINES.B Thesis Award 2026, an initiative aimed at promoting and rewarding high-quality academic research in the field of European mining heritage.
The award is dedicated to Bachelor’s and Master’s degree theses distinguished by their scientific, cultural, and applied value, and addressing topics related to mining history, industrial and extractive heritage, mining landscapes, communities, and post-mining territorial regeneration, with particular attention to the European and transnational dimension.
The call is open to graduates who have obtained their degree from universities located in the MINES.B member States — Belgium, France, Italy, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Spain. Eligible theses must have been discussed between 1 January 2010 and 1 September 2026.
The winning thesis will receive a prize of €2,000, awarded by the MINES.B Federation.
